چکیده

BackgroundIn all of randomized controlled trials mechanical thrombectomy, the target vessels were proximal. Herein we report a clinical trial Tron FX stent retriever, including smallest size 2/15 mm for distal intracranial large vessel occlusion (LVO).ObjectiveEligible patients presented within 8 h onset with proximal or LVOs, and 4/20 used as first-line device.MethodsThe primary endpoints rate modified Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction (mTICI) grade 2a–3 immediately after using only, mortality 90 d. We compared outcomes between sizes mm.ResultsThe was conducted 50 cases, which 44% LVO 15 cases treated only mm. The overall mTICI 80.0% (75.8% mm, 86.7% mm), 90-day Rankin Scale ≤ 2 improvement National Institute Health Stroke thrombectomy ≥ 10 achieved 66.7% (61.3% mm). 8.0%, symptomatic hemorrhage 24 occurred 2.0% cases.ConclusionIn this FX, included LVO, its efficacy similar safety superior previous studies.

Vessel perforation during stent retriever thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke: technical details and clinical outcomes.

BACKGROUND Vessel perforation during stent retriever thrombectomy is a rare complication; typically only single instances have been reported. OBJECTIVE To report on a series of patients whose stent retriever thrombectomy was complicated by intraprocedural vessel perforation and discuss its potential mechanisms, rescue treatment strategies, and clinical significance. METHODS Cases with intra...

Risk of distal embolization with stent retriever thrombectomy and ADAPT.

BACKGROUND There is a discrepancy in clinical outcomes and the achieved recanalization rates with stent retrievers in the endovascular treatment of ischemic stroke. It is our hypothesis that procedural release of embolic particulate may be one contributor to poor outcomes and is a modifiable risk. The goal of this study is to assess various treatment strategies that reduce the risk of distal em...

Endovascular thrombectomy for M2 occlusions: comparison between forced arterial suction thrombectomy and stent retriever thrombectomy.

BACKGROUND To date there has been no direct comparison of two frequently used endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) methods (forced arterial suction thrombectomy (FAST) and stent retriever thrombectomy) in M2 occlusions. We review our experiences with EVT performed using FAST and stent retriever thrombectomy in such cases. METHODS The subjects comprised 41 patients with an M2 occlusion who underwen...

Intracranial stent placement for symptomatic intracranial stenosis as part of a clinical trial versus outside a clinical trial.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE A high rate of postprocedure complications in the Stenting versus Aggressive Medical Therapy for Intracranial Arterial Stenosis (SAMMPRIS) trial has raised concerns whether such results are representative of intracranial stent placement in actual routine practice. METHODS Using the Nationwide Inpatient Sample from 2008 to 2010, patients with cerebral ischemic events tre...
